As part of kicking off the partnership with Bigvision & The Recovery Arts Project, we will present a staged reading of Lauren Gunderson’s newest play UNCOMMON BIRDS on Sept 10th at 7 PM.

This reading will star 2 Time Tony Winner Norbert Leo Butz, Casey Murphy,  Veronika Duerr and more actors to be named.

The evening will begin at 6:30 pm at 309 Social Club (309 E 49th Street, NY, NY)

Uncommon Birds is a fierce, funny new play about people in progress—messy, searching, resilient humans brought together by South Florida's rarest birds. Sharp city-girl Jo and nerd in recovery Dan are opposites with undeniable chemistry that find themselves on a birdwatching trip with people they suddenly love to hate (each other). Their guide Laurel is a fiery birder racing against time to complete her life’s list, while her devoted husband William offers quiet One Day At A Time wisdom and unshakeable support, until Laurel reveals what they are truly doing on this trip. As the hurricane brews and secrets unravel, these four unlikely friends stumble toward truth, forgiveness, and the small, miraculous moments of human understanding that take flight if you keep your eyes out.
