A reading of “Jill Takes a Break” written by Scott Rodgers and directed by Liz Cardenas, starring Thomas Sadoski. Presented by Ten To The Six Pictures as a fundraiser for the eventual feature film, this intimate reading offers an early look at a new work-in-development as part of Bigvision's Reading Series.

“Jill Takes A Break” is a raw, sun-soaked dark comedic drama where heartbreak collides with humor... a film about finding flickers of grace in the middle of life's wreckage. In the feature, Jill, 39, a carefree bartender in Long Beach, CA, buys her dive bar dream just as her addictions and her boyfriend’s hustling spiral toward tragedy, forcing her to choose between chaos and old patterns or a fragile new start. Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother, The Avengers, Jack Reacher) is attached to star as "Jill," and Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom, Wild, Devotion) will co-star as "Vaughn," Jill's longtime partner and a former champion skater. Karan Soni (Deadpool, Miracle Workers, A Nice Indian Boy) will play their best friend, "Gizmo." Written by Scott Rodgers, inspired by his time and experiences living in Long Beach, the film will be directed by Indie Spirit Award Winner Liz Cardenas (7 Days, Never Goin’ Back, A Ghost Story).
